Application Process

For job candidates and Gateway to make reasonable and informed decisions in their own and one another’s interests, every candidate for employment at the Association must be interviewed by the Executive Director and/or by a person or persons designated by the Executive Director. The purpose of the interview is to assess the candidate’s qualifications for the position to be filled, in relation to the qualifications of other candidates for the position. The interview is also intended to inform the candidate about the nature of the position and the responsibilities and working conditions it involves, the purposes and programs of the Association, and the compensation and benefits associated with the position.

Minimum qualifications for each position are established in the Job Description for that position. Selection of personnel will be made in accordance with such stated qualifications, and in accordance with general criteria which apply to all positions.

It is Gateway’s general practice to obtain references from three (3) unrelated persons who can provide information about the (a) applicant’s qualifications for the specific position sought and (b) general criteria for selection of all Association employees. These personal references are provided by the applicant on the Application Form. In addition, Gateway may contact former employers and educational institutions attended by the applicant and may seek relevant information about the applicant from other sources by any lawful means, with or without the applicant’s consent.

Each prospective Gateway employee must complete an Application Form.  Any fraud, misrepresentation, falsification, or material omission in any of the information requested on the Application Form is cause for denial of employment, or dismissal if the applicant is already employed when the fraud, misrepresentation, falsification, or material omission is discovered.

About the Position

Gateway provides care for children ages 5–12, including before and after school programming for students attending Tenth Street Elementary.

This position offers flexible scheduling:

  • Part-Time (School Year): ~25 hours/week
    • Before Care: 6:30–9:00 AM
    • After Care: 3:00–5:30 PM
  • Full-Time (School Breaks): 40 hours/week
    • Includes fall, winter, spring, summer breaks, e-learning days, and school closures

Opportunities for additional hours in other classrooms are available during the school year.

About the Position

Gateway Developmental Learning Center is a nationally accredited program serving children ages 6 weeks through 12 years, including children with special needs.

We are seeking a dedicated Infant & Toddler Teacher to work in a continuity of care classroom, supporting children as they grow and develop over time. This approach allows teachers to build strong, consistent relationships with children and families while supporting each child’s individual developmental journey.

This is a full-time position working with children ages approximately 6 weeks to 3 years.


What You’ll Do

As an Infant & Toddler Teacher, you will:

  • Create a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
  • Build strong, responsive relationships with children and families
  • Support children’s emotional, social, and developmental needs
